The park covers about 8,890ha. It’s situated in north central province, Polonnaruwa District. Annual temperature about 28c and annual rain fall is about 1,159mm.

24 species of mammals are recorded in this park. The most important of them is the Wild Elephants. Over 200 Elephants are living in here. Leopard, Sloth Bear, and Crocodile can also be seen here. Over 400 birds are reported in Sri Lanka, from that 160 are to be found in this park. This Park is under the Department Of Wildlife Conservation.
